Sublimation
Full colour on white mugs and polyester: heat turns the ink into the surface itself, so it cannot be felt or rubbed off.
In sublimation, the design is first printed on special paper. The paper is placed on the product and pressed at high temperature. The heat turns the ink into gas, which bonds into polyester fibres or the product's special coating.
Why choose it?
- Full colour and photo quality: gradients, photos, any colour.
- Cannot be felt: the ink does not form a layer on top of the surface.
- Permanent: it does not crack or peel; on a properly coated mug it withstands washing.
Which products?
- White mugs with a sublimation coating and some flasks
- Polyester textiles such as T-shirts, caps, cushions and mouse pads
Limits
- Light backgrounds only: the ink shows on white or light backgrounds. It is not suitable for dark products or coloured backgrounds.
- Suitable materials only: it does not bond to cotton fabric or uncoated surfaces.
- White cannot be printed; white areas stay the colour of the background.
When sublimation is selected, the mockup shows the logo as if it were part of the surface; on dark products it switches to a regular print look automatically.
